Terms of Use

Last updated: March 30, 2026

TL;DR

MacYaps is a fun menu bar app that makes your Mac talk back. Use it responsibly. You are solely responsible for any custom sounds you add. If the app doesn't work as expected, we'll happily refund you.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MacYaps, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of the Service

MacYaps is a macOS menu bar utility that plays short audio clips when system events occur (low battery, charger connected/disconnected, WiFi changes, high CPU usage, etc.). It also allows users to add their own custom sounds.

3. User-Generated Audio / Custom Sounds

You are solely responsible for any audio files or voice clips you add to MacYaps. You agree not to add any content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other third-party rights. MacYaps and its developers are not liable for any legal issues arising from user-added content.

4. License

MacYaps grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software on your own Mac devices. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse-engineer, or modify the app.

5. No Warranty

The app is provided "as is" without any warranties. We do not guarantee it will work perfectly on every Mac configuration or with every future macOS update.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers of MacYaps shall not be liable for any damages arising from use of the app, including but not limited to data loss, hardware issues, or any consequences from audio played by the app.

7. Refund Policy

If MacYaps does not work as described on your supported device, contact us at refund@macyaps.com and we will work to fix the issue or issue a refund. Refunds are not available for change of mind after normal use.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Continued use of MacYaps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada (or your jurisdiction if required).
